How my Journey as an Author begun

 My journey as an Author truly started in 2018. 

I had been writing my whole life and had 3 poems published between the ages of 13-14 years old.

If you are an author I have to ask you a question. 

1. Was there ever a time before you decided to be an author, that you fought it?

Let me elaborate. 

Stories ran through my head as a kid. I didn't understand it being so young. I had and still have dreams that are story related. these stories have always run my thoughts. I could never escape it. By 13 I allowed some of these stories escape my mind. I wrote them down in short form but still never did anything with them. That ended in 2018. My mom had a talk with me about why I didn't just write a book. So for her I gave it a shot.

It’s like being parched for ages, and finally getting that first cool sip of water, you can’t drink it fast enough. Then comes that deep, satisfying breath, the kind you only take when the thirst is finally quenched.

That is what happened for me once I started writing. 

 The rest is history.

With my first book I went in blindly. I just wrote, typed, edited and published. I shouldn't have rushed the process. My 1st book, I call good intentions. Do I regret it? NO. Would I have done it differently? YES. And that is what I intend to do with the 2nd book. I have learned a lot, I mean a LOT. I understand the process now. I have lots of tools at my fingertips. the same mistakes will not be made. Okay well minimally made. Its astounding the things I have learned. 

First time authors, please do research. It's very important. Don't be a Kylie lol.

In the next posts here, I will share my mistakes and what I have learned. I will also share the tools I use and people I follow with the advice that has helped me tremendously!
